more powerful than the spoken word”
-Ann Baker
Ann Baker, founder of Ann
Baker Professional Coaching, is seasoned in the art of successful
communication. She helps business professionals discover their
true authentic selves, utilizing these qualities to inspire better
communication and become powerful industry leaders.
Ann Baker’s professional
coaching skill is derived from theater-based techniques used to
help actors move an audience. She uses an engaging and inquisitive
approach to get to the core of a presenter’s unique message.
Whether speaking to a board of directors or discussing company
changes, clients learn to communicate any message effectively.
Her clients range from actors and television spokespersons to
corporate CEO’s and executive management teams.
Ann Baker brings 30 years
experience as a casting director to her professional clients.
She knows that the qualities that make actors great are same qualities
that make professionals powerful communicators. Known to many
theater professionals as the “Queen of Casting”, Ann
Baker founded Ann Baker Casting in 1980. She served as casting
director for several series and movies seen on ABC-TV, PBS,
HBO, CBS, and NBC. She produced New York City’s Off-Broadway
production of First Night and has coached some of Boston’s
most well-known radio personalities. She also spent six years
as an Associate Casting Director for Boston Casting. In 1990,
she saw the opportunity to bring her casting experience to professionals
and closed Ann Baker Casting to take on the challenge. She knew
that the same presence she identified in actors was also in corporate
professionals. She began working with professionals to bring out
their presence and create influential and effective business communication.
Today, Ann Baker has established
herself as a powerful presence in the Boston community. In addition
to professional coaching, she has addressed audiences at Brandies
University, Emerson College, Boston University, and Boston Conservatory
on the Power of Presence. She also serves as the on-camera
technique coach at the Media Performance Institute in Boston.
